Coyote Cars presents the Coyote Daytona Prototype

The Grand American Road Racing Association was established in 1999 and is located in Daytona Beach, Florida, near the home to NASCAR. Originated by members of the NASCAR community, Grand-Am centers on different styles of racing including sports car and touring car racing on road racing circuits throughout North America.

Grand American will race 15 times in 2008 and will feature some of the world’s biggest stars among its participants. Grand-Am is one of the fastest growing series in motorsports worldwide – as manufacturers like Porsche, Ferrari, Ford, Pontiac, BMW, Corvette, Mazda, Lexus and Infiniti expand their involvement. The series has seen explosive growth from a competitor, corporate sponsorship and television viewership standpoint. From concept to a hyper-competitive field of 40+ cars, Grand-Am is regarded by drivers as the series to race in with drivers including NASCAR champions like Tony Stewart, Bobby Labonte, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson and open-wheel stars like Dan Wheldon, Paul Tracy, Sebastian Bourdais, Buddy Rice, Scott Dixon choosing to participate.

Television coverage reaches more than 68 million homes in the US alone through Speed Channel, and ratings have been climbing steadily as the series has become recognized for intensely close racing.

At speeds in excess of 185 mph… on some of the most demanding racetracks in North America …the Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 features exotic Daytona Prototypes and easily identifiable GT cars with professional drivers from the United States and around the world.

The season begins at the legendary Rolex 24 At Daytona, the premier endurance race in North America and considered by the drivers who annually take up the challenge to be the toughest day-long race in the world. Grand-Am continues on with races ranging from 400k to 1000k in length. The Rolex Series schedule includes an excellent mix of traditional road courses and stadium tracks like Watkins Glen International, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Homestead-Miami Speedway and famous Grand Prix circuits in Mexico City and Montreal.
